Fonterra really pushing its luck a bit...
While you could feel sorry for New Zealand's biggest company and giant dairy company, Fonterra. It became involved in the melamine contaminated milk powder controversy, through its joint venture with a Chinese dairy company, and later paid $NZ200 million in compensation. Those responsible have received the death penalty, life sentences and other imprisonment.
But however it is accused of delaying its knowledge of the melamine controversy - six babies died and another 36,000 become seriously ill with kidney stones and other illnesses, until after the Beijing Olympics - and this will not do much for its credibility, or help the interests of NZ as a country either. Wouldn't be too proud of that!
